The OHIO University Bobcats Men's Hockey program participates in Division I ranks of the American Collegiate Hockey Association in the Independent League. The Independent League includes Liberty, Drury, Niagara, Maryville, Oregon, and the University of Alabama.
The OHIO Hockey program provides one of the most unique and rewarding college hockey experiences in the nation. OHIO Bobcat Hockey prides itself in playing only the most elite of competition, including NCAA, Canadian Colleges and ACHA opponents. OHIO Hockey also competes against Oklahoma University, University of Arizona, University of Colorado and other elite-level universities from around the nation.
OHIO hockey offers a great opportunity for student-athletes to compete while earning a degree from a nationally respected university. Hockey at OHIO University is played at a very high level. The roster is typically comprised of players who have played NCAA, Junior A, AAA, elite high school and prep school hockey.
ACHA teams have competed well against their NCAA counterparts and in some cases have earned wins against NCAA Division I teams.
The OHIO Bobcat Hockey team plays all their home games at the historic Bird Arena on the campus of Ohio University. Home games typically draw anywhere from 1000-1500 fans a game. The Bobcats have their own dressing room at Bird Arena where players can store all their equipment.
